The lease is just about up on my apartment, and with the hike in rent and fact that I’ve been dying to redecorate, Kev and I decided to search the city for a new place. We went out this past weekend, and I must admit, I think we got SUPER lucky! With the exception of a few hundred extra square feet (oh well, it’s Manhattan), each of my dream characteristics were hit: newly renovated pre-war, look-through kitchen, new appliances, brick walls (even white painted brick!), and a bigger bedroom (let me tell you, it couldn’t have gotten much smaller). And now that we’re signed, all I can think about is decorating……
[1] Curved upholstered chairs (and general blue inspiration) - West Elm; [2] Chantilly frames mirror – Anthropologie; [3] Colored glass lamp – Pottery Barn; [4] & [5] Aquamarine table lamp and Indigo table lamp – Z Gallerie; [6] Red geometric Ira & Sylvia Seret rug – One King’s Lane; [7] White lacquer desk – Z Gallerie; [8] Rosette carved wood coffee table - West Elm
Here are some of the items I’ve got my eye on. I love mixing modern, classic and eclectic. Unfortunately, I rarely have the time to peruse flea markets or antique shops, where some of the most unique items – and best deals – can be found. Instead, I’m starting to learn it’s best to pick up those treasure finds when you are lucky enough to stumble upon them (assuming they’re not inordinately expensive, of course). I’ll be in San Francisco this weekend and hope to find a small accessory or two – I love bringing back items from other cities!
What are your favorite furniture and home accessory stores/markets?
That looks almost exactly like the rug I was talking about! I want it
